Who Is August Burns Red? Lancaster Metalcore Since 2003
If you've ever lost your voice to "Identity" or "Invisible Enemy", you already know why August Burns Red still matters. But who are they, and where did that sound come from? Here's a quick guide for new fans and old ones.
Where are August Burns Red from?
August Burns Red formed in March 2003 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, while its members were still in high school. They play metalcore with a progressive, technical streak: fast, intricate riffs, big breakdowns and a lot of melody.
Who is in the band?
The line-up has not changed since 2006: Jake Luhrs on lead vocals, JB Brubaker on lead guitar, Brent Rambler on rhythm guitar, Dustin Davidson on bass and Matt Greiner on drums. Brubaker, Rambler and Greiner have been there since 2003. Earlier singers were Jon Hershey and Josh McManness, and Jordan Tuscan played bass until 2006.

- Thrill Seeker (2005)
- Messengers (2007)
